Before you contact support

  • Check which app version you are using.
  • Describe the device model and iOS version.
  • Explain what you expected to happen and what happened instead.
  • If the issue happened during a run, mention the workout type and whether audio cues played.
  • If the issue involves AI or enhanced voice, mention the mode and provider you selected. Never send your API key.

What works without setup

Run Buddy AI 1.3 is free and requires no Run Buddy account, subscription, or API key to record a free run, follow a saved workout, hear deterministic workout cues, and review your history. Apple Health and AI features remain optional.

Troubleshooting overview

No personalized workout appears

This is expected when neither Apple Intelligence nor a personal AI provider is available. Free Run and saved workouts remain available. Open Settings → AI & Connections to see the effective mode.

Audio cues are missing

Check device volume, focus mode, audio route, and whether the session was active when the cue should have played.

Apple Health shows duplicate runs

Run Buddy reconciles recordings that overlap, including sessions recorded by another watch. Open Settings → AI & Connections → Apple Health to review the sync status and run another sync if needed.

Heart-rate detail is missing

Apple Health may expose only a summary for an older workout or a source may not have written detailed samples. Grant heart-rate read access, synchronize again, then open the run’s coach-data summary.

A personal provider fails

Open Settings → AI & Connections, check the selected preset and model, then use Test Connection. The app distinguishes authentication, model, quota, timeout, and network failures. Never include your key in a support message.

How is analytics used?

Anonymous product events help measure onboarding and completed runs. They exclude routes, locations, health metrics, prompts, conversations, keys, and custom URLs. You can disable analytics or reset its random identifier in Settings.
